Downtown Evansville offers some wonderful hidden treasures for a wedding. The old courthouse is one of them. The courthouse isn’t quite what comes to mind when someone tells you their getting married at the courthouse, but this is not your everyday courthouse. Kristina and Andrew’s wedding was as beautiful as it was elegant. Decorated with old vintage books and globes.
Although, the weather called for rain, we ended up with an amazing day. I started off meeting the girls at the Blue Duck salon, on the Eastside, for hair and make up. The girls got ready at the courthouse, while the guys spent some time hanging out at at the Gerst Haus for some quick drinks. (Non Alcoholic of course =P) Then it was to the courthouse for the guys.
Kristina & Andrew had their first look on the first floor, which gave them some nice privacy for some time together. The ceremony was held in the old courtroom with the reception following at the other end in the Ballroom. The ballroom was decorated in a vintage books and globes to reference their love for travel/adventure, while keeping the color scheme neutral as not to take away from the natural beauty that the ballroom already possesses.
They had breakfast for dinner which consisted of hash browns, bacon, lots of bacon, french toast, and made to order omelettes and donuts instead of the traditional cake. Dinner was topped off with a coffee bar. I also heard something about a special coffee infused beer made by one of the groomsmen for the rehearsal dinner the night before.
One last detail I need to mention. The favors to the guests were bottles of maple syrup, which the groom hand filled, to go along with the breakfast themed dinner.
They had an absolutely wonderful day. Be sure to congratulated them in the comments below.
