Drving out of town to the first wedding of the season, I realized that St Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt Carmel, IL might be the church I have photographed the most weddings in thru the years. Jessie had made the comment that it was the church we had shot the most in our time toghether the last 4 years.
On this day I had the pleasure of photographing a lovely hometown girl and her college sweet heart. Laura Militoni And Dominic Bisogni met thru friends while attending Arkasas State University. The couple dated for 5 years, have a son and the over whelming feeling was this was a long time coming.
One thing that was immediately clear at the begining of the day was that this wedding party was going to be fun. The easy going friends and family were there to celebrate and fun. The two families today were full of joy and delighted to be there to witness the two join together.
The day sarted off in Princeton at Nieco’s Salon. Then the bride and her party got dressed in her childhood home in Mt Carmel IL. The wedding took place at St Mary’s church.
The brides family showed some family heritage by wearing Ta’ovala . Traditional dress in the Isands of Tonga where her father is from. The bride and groom left the church to the ringing of bells. Wedding bells, it’s belived that the ringing of bells wards away evil and grants wishes. It’s the small touches during the wedding day that makes each one special.
The reception was held at the Granary in New Harmonany. The party was enjoyed by everyone.
Laura and Dom, thank you for letting us share in your day!
